AN ADVANTAGE TO LIVING ON SMALLER NH LAKES IS THAT THEY TEND TO BE MORE TRANQUIL AND SERENE. GREYWOOD GARDENS is a perfect example. Larger lot sizes mean less density among homes, less traffic on the water, and greater flexibility in design. This home is private and secluded despite being very close to town, shops, and dining; primarily due to its heavily wooded character. This project encompassed a complete exterior and interior renovation with extensive landscape improvements with the goals of updating and improving both aesthetics and functionality.

A key component on the streetside of the project included the addition of a covered front entryway. This timber-framed structure, complemented by the new pergola-covered parking area and timber light columns transforms the front of this home with a contemporary mountain home style. Other important elements include an inviting entry court with improved vehicular circulation, a stately security gate, and the addition of a functional outdoor storage system. Lakeside, the priority was creating useable open space, resulting in an artificial turf ‘lawn’ perfect for lawn games, sunbathing, or playing fetch with the dog.

Other design components include a patio with a gas fire pit, ramped access to the waterfront for easy maintenance, and improved patios at the lakeside and in under-deck areas adjacent to the house.
