BIG GREY ROCK – is aptly named for the abundance of exposed
granite ledge dominating the natural landscape. Environmental sensitivity, enhancement of the natural elements, and use of native and natural materials were points of emphasis in designing the site landscape.

Guests arrive in a stately entry court, paved with reclaimed
granite slabs. The courtyard establishes a sense of scale, maturity, and
endurance before you even step foot in this exquisitely crafted residence. A man-made, yet naturalistic waterfall, cascades down a ledge stone face opposite the front door providing visual and audible interest upon arrival as well as from the formal dining room.

Artfully crafted fieldstone walls and reclaimed granite steps lead visitors around the home, meandering around protrusions of rock and existing trees. Patio and pathways are created with oversized Goshen stone flagging, complementing the natural dark greys and rusts of the site’s existing stone and minerals.

A profusion of variety in plant material fills every area around the house and drive. Creeping woodland natives, fruit-filled bushes, and a medley of specimen trees help to soften the abundant stone while enhancing the beauty of the site throughout all seasons.
