Vulgar Brewing

Preserving much of the historic brick architecture, the brew house was designed within the 1970s Buell’s Block Building, supporting the adaptive reuse of this downtown Franklin structure.

Designed as a modern English-style pub with park-side seating, the brewery became part of Franklin’s ongoing revitalization. The design supports community gathering while honoring the city’s industrial heritage, with collaboration from Mill City Park leadership helping guide the park’s continued renewal.

Named from the Latin word vulgus, meaning crowd or people, Vulgar Brewing reflects a focus on community connection. Visible brewing tanks from Main Street and a welcoming park-side patio encourage public engagement, while the brewpub includes a central bar, flexible seating, and a small kitchen supporting craft beer service.
