HOME / WORK / RESIDENTIAL / THE LANDING

the landing

The original Lake Sunapee cottage gave way to a new home inspired by neighboring Victorian architecture. Houses sit only eight feet away on either side. As a result, the design maximizes allowable living space for year-round activities.

Outside, the home complements the architecture of Blodgett Landing. Inside, the design creates a more contemporary atmosphere. Upon entry, a sculptural open stair welcomes visitors. It also provides easy access between floors.

With young children and an active lifestyle, the homeowners established clear priorities. They wanted easy lake access, ample storage, and low-maintenance living. In addition, they sought casual spaces for family and guests. The design balances both private retreats and shared gathering areas.
