As a result, the home feels rooted in the Vermont landscape. The form and materials reflect traditional Vermont timber homes. At the same time, the design feels timeless and connected to the surrounding mountains.

From the beginning, spectacular views of Vermont’s valleys and mountains guided the design. In addition, the owners prioritized an open central living space. Strong connections to the outdoors also shaped the home’s layout. Meanwhile, the warmth of the timber complements the solidity of the central masonry fireplace. Together, these elements create a natural gathering place. As a result, the home supports Vermont’s four-season lifestyle.

Beyond the home itself, the landscape strengthens the connection to the site. Stone gathered directly from the property shapes the landscape design forming retaining walls and seating walls. In turn, these features define outdoor entertaining areas. They also provide seamless access to the outdoor kitchen and surrounding landscape.
