Night Pasture Farm
Inspired by a grand tree on the property, the central fireplace anchors the design while the timber frame extends outward, creating a distinctive and sheltering structure rooted in the Vermont landscape. The form and materials reflect the character of traditional Vermont timber homes, designed to feel both timeless and connected to the surrounding mountains.
Spectacular views of Vermont’s valleys and mountains, an open central living space, and strong connections to the outdoors were key priorities for this Vermont home. The warmth and beauty of the timber contrast with and complement the solidity of the central masonry fireplace, creating a natural gathering place well suited to Vermont’s four-season lifestyle. Stone gathered directly from the Vermont site is incorporated into the landscape design, forming retaining and seating walls that define outdoor entertaining areas and provide seamless access from the home to the outdoor kitchen and surrounding landscape.
