On a peninsula with stunning southern views, this gently sloping property features mature hemlocks. These trees frame views of Lake Sunapee, Mount Sunapee, and Great Island. From the beginning, the clients envisioned a long-term transformation of the property. As a result, they developed a multi-year plan to rebuild the home, guesthouse, boathouse, and landscape.

The design needed to support both large gatherings and everyday living. The home accommodates family and friends during weekends and holidays. However, it also remains comfortable and efficient for a couple. To achieve this balance, the design includes four bedrooms and open casual living spaces. In addition, a recreation room and reading loft provide opportunities for gathering and relaxation.

Throughout the home, the connection between indoors and the lakeside remains a priority. The design balances expansive views with thoughtfully integrated outdoor living spaces. The property achieves a tranquil equilibrium, highlighting the most enjoyable qualities of lakefront living.
