Edgewater Renewal

This landscape transformation redefines both arrival and lakeside living, strengthening curb appeal while honoring the environmental sensitivities of the site. The original garage once dominated the road frontage, obscuring the home’s entry and limiting usable outdoor space. By reorienting the structure and reshaping the drive, the approach was opened to reveal the house and create a multi-use recreation court for basketball and pickleball, blending active living seamlessly into the front yard experience.

A thoughtfully designed entry court now anchors the transition between garage and home. Hand-laid quarry stone walls, rock-faced Woodbury Grey granite steps, and complementary concrete pavers form a sheltered gathering space with seating and an outdoor cooking area protected from prevailing lake breezes. Granite post-mounted luminaires and integrated LED step lights provide understated illumination, reinforcing the timeless material palette.

Along the lakeside, careful grading introduced a new lower-level entrance while preserving environmental integrity. A rustic Olde Chester Granite flagstone patio and pervious walkways allow stormwater to infiltrate naturally, reducing runoff and protecting the lake. Open lawn areas support recreation, while native waterfront plantings restore habitat and stabilize the shoreline. Subtle LED path lighting guides the walk from dock to home, completing a landscape designed for recreation, resilience, and quiet evenings by the water.
