Big Grey Rock

Seventy feet above the lake “Big Grey Rock” is perched on a steep, ledge-filled lakefront property. Predominant southerly views stretching across the lake’s length offer an ever-changing seasonal backdrop from sunrise to sunset. From snow-swept scenes of the frozen lake to the stunning colors of autumn, nearly all of the rooms offer unique vignettes of New Hampshire’s stunning outdoors.

Delighting in nature, landscape paintings, outdoor activities and a regional family history, all played a role in the design of this lakes region New Hampshire home. Balancing views and providing sufficient space for large family gatherings, with impacts on the property were paramount. Additionally, designing the home and boathouse with warm natural materials and colors allows it to retreat seamlessly into the wooded and rocky backdrop of the shoreline.
